Muscat: In a spectacular event held in Dubai as a dedication to Shiakh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoom, Vice President & Prime Minister of the UAE and Emir of Dubai, Tariq Hilal al Barwani has been awarded with the “Outstanding Entrepreneur Who Believes in the Spirit of Giving.” The Global Giving Awards ceremony was specifically created to award individuals who make difference to the people and the planet. “Doing business or creating an initiative for the sake of making money was never the only interest for me. Doing good and making impact to the lives of people is what I enjoy doing most”, said Al Barwani who is the Founder of Knowledge Oman.
The Global Giving Award ceremony recognises the humblest act of kindness that can have the highest influence on the superiority of life for the underserved and downtrodden. This award inspires selfless acts and endorses altruism and compassion in future generations. Tariq has been selected due to his various contribution to the goodness of the education and society as a whole. Tariq is an innovative technologist, investor, social entrepreneur and motivational speaker. He serves as an advisory board of academic institution and is also the founder of the largest community platform in the Sultanate, Knowledge Oman.
Tariq donated educational materials to college and universities and is continuously supporting initiatives under his personal capacity that focuses on doing good. Tariq has been featured among 10 exemplary personalities from across the Arab world in Arabs Unseen book authored by Mohammed Mahfoodh al Ardhi featuring achievements and success stories.
