Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) has made a statement on the complaints received from the owners of vehicles affected by fuel 95 in some filling stations in North Batinah and Barimi that led to its total withdrawal from the market.

A statement from the Ministry said laboratory tests were conducted in coordination with the relevant companies and some external deposits were found in only one shipment of M95, which was transported from the refinery in Suhar to some fuel stations in these regions.

The Ministry had asked the marketing fuel companies in the two governorates to withdraw M95, remove impurities from the reservoirs and replace them with the new stock of fuel.

MOCI said after following up with the three fuel marketing companies it was revealed that they have completed all cleaning operations at the affected stations.

The Ministry has refereed the case to the prosecution in the interest of owners of these vehicles.
