Muscat: The Public Prosecution said on Tuesday that investigations are being carried out in a number of cases related to violations of the decisions of the Supreme Committee on Covid-19.
Some of the violations, which included banned services and users, have been held on remand imprisonment, pending investigation.
The authorities have also arrested a number of rumor mongers and publishers of classified content and other contents prejudicial to the public order.
The criminal prosecution included all those who republished and sent the said materials.
The Public Prosecution has urged citizens and residents not to publish any news or information related to the epidemic, and take the information from official sources.
