8th Design Club expo held at CAS Nizwa

The 8th Design Club exhibition has begun at the Faculty of Applied Sciences in Nizwa. Organised by the Design Department, it began with an exhibition of the design works of students. The event was held under the auspices of Khalid bin Saif bin Ahmed al Hinai, Director of the Department of Handicraft Industries in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.


The expo was aimed at showcasing the creativity of students. Consisting of several pillars, the first pillar was on photography, representing ancient heritage of Oman in a different way.


The second pillar was ‘Illustrator’ and the third, typography, which saw some font designs presented in an innovative way.


The event had a corner where members displayed posters and characters chosen from movies using Core Studio, Photoshop and Illustrator programme.


It had a ‘Brand Identity’ corner that saw works designed in different forms.


The ‘Interior Design’ corner showcased interior designs of houses and methods of mapping design using AutoCAD programme.


Some of the works were created with the help of recycled materials.


The exhibition saw a 2D animation section that offered games and special programmes for children.


The forum saw a calligraphy workshop titled ‘How to implement a painting’ by Eng Shabib al Balushi, while a workshop on interior design was conducted by lecturer Tony Factor.


A workshop, ‘Make-up and Special Effects’, was presented by Montaser al Jahwari, while Said al Nahawi presented a workshop on ‘Graphic Design’.


The last day will see a discussion with Muthafar bin Mahmoud al Sarmi, and a workshop titled ‘Making the Visual Content’ by Mutasim al Shqasi.
