Muscat:The Sixth International Conference of the Omani Society of Obstetrics & Gynecology (OSOG) began on Friday in collaboration with the Embassy of the United States of America in Muscat at the Crown Plaza Hotel, Muscat in the presence of Dr Waleed Al-Zadjali, President of Oman Medical Association and H.E. Marc J. Sievers, USA Ambassador to the Sultanate.
Around 300 medical staff and allied medical categories specialized in gynecology, obstetrics and midwifery from government and private health institutions from various Governorates of the Sultanate along with number of participants from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Iraq, UK and USA are attending the conference.
The three-day International Conference addressed number of related topics including ending preventable maternal mortality, ethical dilemmas in obstetrics & gynecology, fetal medicine and gynecology updates, medical disorders in pregnancy, risk management in obstetrics and gynecology and updates in the management of menopause etc.
On Thursday morning, two training workshops preceded the Conference, which highlighted the obstetrics ultrasound, as well as the women health life cycle.
