A large Indian business delegation, comprising representatives of 60 companies, will be participating in BIG Show Oman 2018, which is being held from March 12 to 14, 2018, the Indian Embassy announced here yesterday. These Indian companies have business interests in a number of sectors, including building materials, construction equipment, ceramics & tiles, bathroom fittings, wood machinery, interior design, stones & marbles, landscape designing, paints & chemicals, concrete & cement, and so on.

To facilitate interaction and tie-ups between the participating Indian companies and representatives of Omani companies from corresponding sectors, the Embassy will be organising a B2B Meeting on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at 5 pm, at the premises of the Indian Embassy in Diplomatic Enclave, Al-Khuwair, Muscat. Omani and Indian companies that wish to join the B2B Meeting may contact the Indian Embassy by e-mailing at com.oman@mea.gov.in or calling at 24684559.

“Bilateral trade and investment relations between India and Oman have been a key pillar of mutually beneficial strategic partnership between the two countries,” the Embassy said.

“Government of India, therefore, accords a high priority to promoting bilateral trade and mutual investments. India and Oman already enjoy buoyant trade, with value of bilateral trade reaching $3.67 billion during April-October 2017, in comparison to $4 billion during April 2016- March 2017, according to Department of Commerce, Government of India. There is immense scope for further enhancing the trade between the two countries, based on the growing complementarities between the two economies.”

“The Embassy of India, Muscat, with a view to encouraging Indian and Omani business communities to engage more with each other and benefit from tremendous opportunities available for trade and mutual investment in two countries, has been facilitating visits of Indian business delegations to Oman as well as Omani delegations to India. The Embassy has also been encouraging participation by Indian companies in various expositions organised in Oman. With a view to make visits of Indian companies to Oman fruitful, the Embassy has also been organising Business to Business (B2B) meetings, seminars and roadshows, and so on,” it added.
