336 workers violate Labour Law, 487 deported: Ministry of Manpower

Muscat: The weekly report of the joint inspection team at the Ministry of Manpower pointed out that the number of workers violating the Labour Law from June 4 to June 10 stood at 336 including 237 commercial workers, 57 farm workers and 42 housemaids. The inspection teams caught 329 workers including 230 absconding workers, 76 astray workers and 23 workers with other violations.


The Governorate of Muscat witnessed the largest number of workers violating the law with 116 case followed by the Governorate of North al Batinah with 65 workers.


The competent authorities at the Ministry of Manpower are taking the legal procedures against them.


On the other hand, the Manpower Ministry statistics showed that 487 expatriate workers were deported for violating provisions of the Labour Law and the ministerial decisions executing the law. — ONA
