KUWAIT: Three Omani inventors won awards at the 11th International Invention Fair of the Middle East (IIFME), Kuwait, as part of the GCC Patent Office Stand.

The inventor Salim bin Abdullah al Kabi won the gold medal and the second place for the invention of varnish coating made of frankincense, while inventor Salma bint Salem al Sudairiya won the gold medal and the third place for the project of a fuel extracted from the seeds of dates and wasted oils. The inventor Al Zahra bint Mohammed al Husseiniya won the gold medal for the invention of an automated paving truck.

The Award of the GCC General Secretariat “Patent Office” for the winners of the first three places comes within the context of the office’s systematic motivation to the inventors in the GCC States and encourage them to participate in international invention fairs held throughout the year to create the appropriate environment. It is also meant to display their inventions and open channels for them with local and international investors to market these inventions and develop them to achieve their ambition and contribute to the development of knowledge of their communities. — ONA
