3 expatriates held on theft charges in Nizwa

MUSCAT: Royal Oman Police (ROP) said it has arrested three Asian expatriates on charges of theft from one of the restaurants in Nizwa. ROP said the suspects were able to steal a money and phone recharging cards RO 500 after breaking one of the windows of the restaurant. Following investigation two suspects were arrested in Nizwa. The third suspect was arrested at Muscat International Airport while attempting to leave the Sultanate. Records showed he had violated the labour law.


In another incident, detectives were able to arrest an Asian expatriate for selling stolen electric cables to one of the shops selling scrap wire in Nizwa Industrial area. The suspects were referred to the Public Prosecution for further proceedings. The Barka police also arrested a suspect who stole a vehicle and then set fire to it deliberately. ROP received a communication from a vehicle owner benefit that his vehicle has been stolen.  The case has been referred to the public prosecution.
