Nizwa, August 29 - A total of 291 students have been admitted by the College of Applied Sciences (CAS) in Nizwa for the academic year 2017-18. An induction week was organised by the faculty for the new students.
They have enrolled for the Mass Communication Studies Programme, which includes Public Relations, Digital Media, Advertising, Journalism and International Communications.
The induction week activities began with the recitation of verses from Quran and included a presentation about Applied Science Colleges in the Sultanate.
The College Dean Dr Said al Nabhani welcomed the students and spoke about the principles, morals and rules of the faculty.
Saif al Tobi, Deputy Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs, explained the organisational and administrative structure of the college.
The staff from Department of General Requirements and Department of English defined the role of the department. In addition, they spoke about the tests that will assess their level of proficiency in mathematics, computers and English.
