28 Omani firms to attend Arabian Travel Market

By Business Reporter — MUSCAT: April 23 - The Ministry of Tourism will represent the Sultanate at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) due to open in Dubai today, April 24, 2017. Oman’s delegation will be led by Maitha Saif al Mahrouqi (pictured), the Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism.


The Sultanate participates in the ATM annually, as it is considered as the largest international gathering specialized in tourism in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Major contributors and decision-makers in tourism-related activities participate in the ATM; namely — airlines, hotels, shipping companies, conference centres, hotels, resorts, tour organisers, senior executives in the tourism sector and travel agencies.


Through its participation in this international exhibition, the Ministry of Tourism seeks to introduce the sector’s latest developments and the most recently launched services, projects and facilities of the tourism industry in the Sultanate. It also aims to promote Omani tourism — its originality, the pristine environment and terrain diversification and the Sultanate’s unique cultural heritage, which provides multiple types of tourism in Oman.


The Ministry’s participation will highlight future tourism plans and projects which are expected to be launched soon, and those that will add a value to the sector by attracting a large number of tourists. A special focus will be given to promote tourism in summer — Khareef (autumn) Festival in Salalah; and other most prominent offers that visitors can avail of from various tourism establishments and hotels.


The Arabian Travel Market is a leading international event for tourism in the Middle East. Celebrating its twenty-two years since being launched, the forum marks important aspects in tourism. Participants in this annual business fair from the tourism sector exhibit more than 2,800 products and destinations from around the world. The ATM will be held for 4 days at Dubai International Convention Centre. It will host more than 39,000 visitors who are interested in tourism sector like — specialists and professionals from travel industry, government’s officials and international media representatives in order to communicate and discover the latest trends in the sector.


A total of 28 companies and tourism establishments will participate in this year’s ATM.  The list includes Travel Point LLC, Grand Hyatt Muscat Hotel, Experience Oman, Ehab Travel Agency, InterContinental Muscat Hotel, Coral Muscat Hotel & Apartments, Millennium Hotels and Resorts, Mezoon Travel LLC, The Chedi Muscat Hotel, Al Bustan Palace, A Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Ajwan Hotel Apartments, Magic Arabia, Kempinski Hotel Muscat, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, Oman Airports Management Company (SAOC), Mirbat Marriott Resort, Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort, Royal Opera House Muscat, Accor Hotels Group, Bahwan Travel Agencies LLC, Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay, Atana Hotels, Arab Explorers, Ramada Muscat Hotel, Crowne Plaza Duqm, Al Nahda Resort & Spa, Elite Holidays Travel & tourism, Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa and Khimji House of Travel.


This year, ATM will include a number of events for travel and tourism’s professionals, and will also witness the participation of experts and leading personalities in the tourism sector, who will discuss and review various key issues related to tourism over the four-day forum.
