25 participants at swimming instructor training

MUSCAT, May 23 – As many as 25 participants took part at the swimming instructors’ training course, which is organised by Oman Swimming Association at Suhar Sports Complex. The participants in the training course will come through from different clubs namely Suhar, Al Musannah, Al Shabab, Muscat and from Bahrain. This course came within the general plan of the Oman Swimming Association to promote swimming in the Sultanate and encourage swimming activities in all the governorates.
The aim of the course is also to attract all clubs to enter into a partnership association to activate the role of clubs in swimming education, relying on the national candidates in the course to work as swimming coaches soon. Mohammed al Saheli was the trainer of the course. Al Saheli, Technical Specialist at the Swimming Education and Training Centres of the Oman Swimming Association, provided some practical and theoretical applications during the course. All participants in the course were given a practical and theory test to determine their comprehension of the main part of the course that they received during the course.
Trainer Mohammed al Saheli presented during the course different technical aspect to the participants including training of a group of students and the ability to teach the basics of swimming to them (self-confidence, buoyancy, breathing skills, aerodynamics and mobility). Also, the course focused on the educational aspect by giving some techniques of communication with children and how to manage a swimming pool with children.
