23,500 to vote for Oman Chamber board elections

More than 23,500 voters (corporate owners of representatives) will head to the election centres in the governorates to elect the new board of directors for Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) and its branches on Sunday. The final list includes 129 candidates. The election committees are headed by members of the Public Prosecution to ensure smooth and transparent election process. There will be two election centres in Muscat, in the OCCI headquarters and Al Tafaooq School in Seeb; Dhofar (3 centres), Musandam (2) and one centre each in Al Dakhiliayah, Al Buraimi, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, North Al Sharqiyah, South Al Sharqiyah and Al Dhahirah. The voting and counting processes will be conducted electronically. Results will be announced today. Dhofar has the most number of voters with 6,332, followed by Muscat with 4,392 and North Al Batinah 4,152.
