Salalah: The 1st Intelligent Sustainability Conference, organised by the Impact Integrated company, in cooperation with a number of start-up companies, kicked off at Hilton Hotel Salalah today under the auspices of Mohammed bin Salim al Toobi, Minister of Environment and Climate Affairs.

As more as 150 participants representing different sectors took part in the conference.

Khalid bin Al Safi al Hraibi, CEO of Impact Integrated Company, delivered a speech during which he spoke about the concept of intelligent sustainability and projects based on the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

He pointed out that the conference seeks to contribute to finding a competitive advantage for the Sultanate by encouraging institutions that offer sustainable and intelligent solutions and products.

The conference included presentations of models and applications on the sectors of manufacturing, energy and finance, and their relationship to artificial intelligence. Participants also talked about the typical artificial intelligence projects in the tourism, logistics and solar sectors.

The conference included an introductory exhibition in which some local projects took part. Those projects benefitted from the Fourth Industrial Revolution techniques, such as the Dhofar University student project, as well as local and international projects.

It is worth mentioning that the Intelligent Sustainability Conference aims to contribute to enhancing the role of the private sector and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to put their mark to benefit from the Fourth Industrial Revolution and its products and to promote the necessary awareness among individuals, companies and the society about the importance of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. --ONA
