16.8 per cent rise in residential plots in the Sultanate till August-end

MUSCAT: The number of residential plots granted by all the governorates till the end of August 2018 reached 23,730, comprising an increase by 16.84 per cent, compared to 20,309 plots in the same period in 2017, according to the latest data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI). The Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah granted the highest number of residential plots till the end of August 2018, reaching 5,106 plots, comprising 4.67 per cent higher, compared to the same period in 2017, which stood at 4,878 plots, followed by the Governorate of Al Dhahirah which stood at 4,634, compared to 1,047 plots during the same period in 2017.


The number of granted residential plots in the Governorate of South Al Batinah during August 2018 stood at 3,988 plots, compared to 4,754 plots during the same period in 2017. The number of granted plots in the Governorate of North Al Sharqiyah stood at 3,821 plots, compared to 2,591 plots during the same period in 2017, the Governorate of South Al Sharqiyah with 2,128 plots, compared to 1,571 plots in August 2017. The number of granted residential plots in the Governorate of Muscat during August 2018 stood at 1,988 plots, compared to 1,737 plots during the same period in 2017, followed by 932 plots in the Governorate of Dhofar, compared to 472 plots in August 2017.


The Governorate of North Al Batinah granted 581 residential plots (except the Wilayat of Suhar) till the end of August 2018, compared to 461 plots during the same in 2017, the Governorate of Al Wusta granted 472 plots, compared to 925 plots during the same period in 2017. The number of granted residential plots in the governorates of Al Buraimi and Musandam stood at 70 and 10 plots, respectively. — ONA
