Over 1,500 to take part in Airport Exchange Forum

Muscat, Nov 5 - The Airport Exchange Forum and Exhibition, organised by the Oman Airports Management Company (OAMC), will begin on December 5 at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC).


The three-day event will focus on profitable operations and excellent customer service, said Sheikh Aimen Ahmed al Hosni, CEO, OAMC.


One of the largest events to be held at OCEC, the conference is of great interest to governments in the Middle East and is expected to attract 1,500 participants, 50 exhibitors and 120 speakers who will speak during various sessions of the conference.


Al Hosni said the conference will bring together prominent decision-makers in the management of airports in the world under one umbrella to discuss challenges facing the sector in light of the growth witnessed by the civil aviation sector.


The conference will have working sessions on airport operations, digital innovation, security, crisis management and airport development. OAMC is also expected take part in several sessions.


The number of passengers travelling through Muscat International Airport is expected to reach 14 million passengers by this year-end.


Salalah airport is expected to be one of the top ten airports in the world in the category of airports handling over two million passengers and more, which will be announced in the first quarter of next year.


The number of passengers through Sohar Airport has increased largely due to improved facilities, reduced landing and parking fees at the airport.
