100 per cent Omanisation in National Museum

MUSCAT: The board of trustees of the National Museum held its fourth meeting on Wednesday presided over by His Highness Sayyid Haitham bin Tareq al Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture and chairman of the board. The National Museum has 47 employees and all of them are Omanis. It received 46,439 visitors in the first eight months of this year. A total of 984 items were refurbished and preserved this compared with 475 in the last year.  The museum has 1,019 items as part of its local and international possession programme, it was reviewed during the meeting. The Friends of the Museum Card was launched on Wednesday. It costs RO 25 and gives its holder a number of advantages including discounts in the museum’s coffee shop restaurant and the gift shop, free entry for two persons all through the year, discounts of the museum’s publications.
