MUSCAT: Employees of The Zubair Corporation (Z-Corp) who participated in the first phase of Executive Leadership Development Programme (ELDP) submitted their final project on the subject “translating strategies into reality” at an event recently.

The first phase of ELDP was attended by 21 employees of Z-Corp who were divided into four groups. Hani Mohammed Al Zubair and executives of Z-Corp also attended the event.

ELDP the first of its kind in Oman, is an initiative aimed at developing the high caliber employees of Z-Corp as part of the group’s talent management programme initiative SEED.

Through a programme that is only common among the best corporations in the world, Z-Corp has set a new standard for corporate leadership development programme in the Sultanate.

The ELDP is a holistic, rotational three years programme designed to equip the participants with hands-on experience in different key roles across Z-Corp. The ELDP consists of nine modules, covering a broad aspect of leadership subjects including, strategy, innovation, leadership, risk management and corporate social responsibility.

In each of the modules, the participants attend a masterclass delivered by an international expert in the subject who then assigns them a project that they must complete over a period of about six weeks. After each course, the talents are coached throughout the period by expert consultants, so they produce tangible deliverables before they are awarded with the corresponding certificate endorsed by an international body.

Underscoring that the programme will enable the group to build the next generation of professional leaders, Hani Mohammed Al Zubair said, “investing in talent is important for the development of our national capability and sustainable future of the country. We have embarked on a comprehensive upgrade of the organisation to meet tomorrow’s leadership and human capacity demands.”
