Women’s role in promoting social cohesion highlighted

SALALAH: Deliberations of the 7th Family Cohesion Seminar concluded on Thursday at Sultan Qaboos Cultural and Entertainment Complex in Salalah.


The closing ceremony of the two-day seminar was held under the auspices of Shaikh Mohammed bin Said al Kalbani, Minister of Social Development, who honoured the participants and the supporting agencies.


The seminar was organised by the Omani Woman’s Association in Salalah, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development.


It included two working papers on immunity and self-care among young people, and moral education curricula, and three workshops on the impact of social communication on ethical behaviour, ethical values in student campus and ethics of volunteer work.


The seminar aimed to stress the importance of religious and moral values and motivating young people to maintain their ethical values and focusing on the optimal use of social media. It also aims at highlighting the role of family and women in promoting social cohesion. — ONA
