The Khoula Hospital on Tuesday launched a hand-hygiene campaign with the theme ‘We Care with Clean Hands’.
The campaign, which will conclude on Thursday, includes activities and events aimed at raising awareness among patients, staff and residents about the importance of hand hygiene.
Launched in collaboration with the Nursing Affairs and Infection Control and Occupational Safety Departments, it includes awareness exhibition and a mobile cart with hand cleaning products and English booklets as well as Arabic leaflets for patients and residents.
Dr Yaqoub al Yaqoubi, Director, Infection Control and Occupational Safety, said in his speech that infection control inside hospitals is one of the key procedures for patients’ safety as well as creating a healthy environment for patients and health workers.
Dr Mia al Siyabi, Director, Nursing Affairs at the hospital, reviewed the goals of the awareness campaign for health workers and patients, and the activities implemented to achieve the desired goals. Khoula Hospital has won the first place for two consecutive years in the hand hygiene competition organised by the Ministry of Health for health institutions affiliated to the ministry across governorates.
