MUSCAT: State Council Vice Chairperson Dr Suad Mohamed Ali Sulaiman al Lawati is attending the 4th Kuwait Corporate Social Responsibility Conference & Exhibition titled ‘Arab Women in International Organisations: Status and Empowerment’.


The fourth Women’s Centre for Community Responsibility 2018 meet, organised by the Regional Network for Social Responsibility, will be held for two days, including April 27, under the theme “Arab Women in International Organisations between Status and Empowerment”.


The conference also marks the launching of the international training programme “Strategies and Requirements for the Preparation of Arab Women for the Professionalisation of Voluntary Work in International Organizations”.


Dr Suad Mohamed Ali Sulaiman al Lawati will present a working paper on programmes to build the capacity of women’s empowerment in international organisations according to the rules of social responsibility at the conference.


The women participating in the conference represent 13 Arab and Gulf countries, and will enable the participants to exchange experiences. The conference aims to build the Arab woman’s capacity and help her assume leadership positions.


The conference includes five discussion sessions featuring personalities from civil society organisations, Arab and international organisations, Social Affairs Ministry and Arab Planning Institute.


The topics include: the map of the representation of Arab women in international organisations, the strategy of empowering Arab women for UN positions, the official role in empowering Arab women for UN positions and strategic dimensions, empowering women in international organisations through the portal of civil society organisations and the mental image of Arab women in the media.


It will also discuss capacity building programmes of women’s empowerment in international organisations in accordance with the rules of social responsibility,


and the role of international organisations in activating the participation of Arab women and assuming leadership positions in addition to the axis on Arab women between international policies and legal mechanisms to achieve their empowerment in international organisations.


The 4th Kuwait CSR Conference and Exhibitions aims to identify the professional tools in preparing Arab women to work in international organisations and the direct use of experts in these organisations as well as providing opportunity to submit action papers in a simulation session of the UN model.
