Khalid al Kharousi, student of the Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), has successfully cultivated black, purple and red tomatoes. The genetically modified tomatoes are capable of staying longer without getting rotten. The black tomatoes have health benefits as they are rich in nutrients and antioxidants that will help avoid illness such as cancer, diabetes and obesity.
