Unified mining regulations discussed

RIYADH: The Sultanate, represented by the Public Authority for Mining (PAM) on Wednesday took part in the first meeting of the GCC Committee of Chairmen and undersecretaries of mining authorities, which was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Sultanate’s delegation was led by Hilal bin Mohammed al Busaidi, CEO of the PAM. The meeting reviewed decisions of the GCC Petroleum Cooperation Committee’s 35th meeting, which discussed the unified general principles that include basic principles of the GCC unified mining regulations to reach a clear vision for the optimum utilisation of mineral resources, in addition to proposing a geological map for the GCC states. — ONA
