UAE to host Tent Pegging World Cup 2018: Al Fairuz

Egypt clinched the top honours on the first day of the fifth edition of International Tent Pegging, which is a qualification event for the World Cup, in Cairo on Monday. The tournament, organised by the Egyptian Equestrian Association will conclude on Wednesday.


Mohammed Essa al Fairuz, Chairman of International Tent Pegging Association (ITPA), said the World Cup 2018 will be hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The World Cup will held from October 27 to November 3.


Ten teams have sealed their qualification spots to the World Cup including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Yemen, Sudan, South Africa, Pakistan, India, Norway and Oman. Two more teams will join the list after the end of the fifth round of the qualifications which is underway in Egypt.

“The International Tent Pegging Association organised four international tournaments which is qualifying for the World Cup of tent pegging. This is the fifth and last round of the qualification and two more teams to move into the international event and join the rest of qualified teams,” Salim al Balushi, assistant general secretary of ITPA, said.
