Two days of mid-air distractions for airline

Muscat – Oman Air issued a statement that said, “With regret that a guest had passed away on flight WY0849 from Muscat to Jakarta on Sunday. For privacy purposes, we are unable to share any further details. Oman Air expresses its heartfelt condolences to the aggrieved family members.”
The airline added, “Safety and well-being of our guests are of utmost priority. And we thank all the guests aboard the flight for their understanding and cooperation.
On Saturday, Oman Air said its flight WY123 (Muscat-Munich) was diverted to Sofia, Bulgaria, after smoke smell was reported from the in-flight system. The airline said engineers were trying to fix the problem at the time of issuing the statement.
Also on Saturday, the airline said some its passengers fell ill as its flight WY245 (Muscat-Delhi) hit an air pocket and experienced a loss of altitude. Passengers were given medical assistance on arrival at Delhi airport.
