The latest observations and satellite imageries at the National Center for Multi-hazard Early Warning showed development of a tropical low pressure area in the Arabian Sea with the  wind speed around the center at 17 to 25 knots, located southwest of Arabian Sea at latitude nine degrees North and longitudes 60 degrees East.

The centre of low depression is about 1,000km from the city of Salalah, while the nearest block of convective clouds accompanying the depression is 530 km from Salalah, a statement from Oman Meteorology said.

There will be no direct impact on the Sultanate's atmosphere during the next three days.

Satellite images and numerical weather prediction suggest that the tropical situation may move towards the coasts of the Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates.

It added that specialists at the National Center for Multi-Hazard Early Warning are following the latest developments in the tropical situation.
