Training programme in robot designing, programming conducted at Al Batinah

MUSCAT, sept 24 - The Department of Human Resources Development in South Batinah Governorate, represented by the Applied Sciences Department in the Information Technology Unit, conducted a training programme in robotics design and programming, implemented by specialists from the Engineering Village Foundation.


The training programme lasts for five days and targets 50 trainees of IT teachers in the governorate. The participants will learn about the basics of electronics and the most important pieces to build the mechanical structures in the bags allocated for such projects such as engines, sensors, gears, wheels, wires and various connectors.


Saif Saeed Almani, head of the IT department at the General Directorate of Education in Al Batinah South Governorate said: “The robot is the most advanced artificial intelligence technology because its applications offer a variety of solutions to the problems that face us in our contemporary life. It is our duty to transfer knowledge and science to our students according to scientific methodology and give them a chance to practice it to achieve the desired goals.”


The programme aims at training the participants to design a robot that makes a specific mission and translating orders using specific sensors. This programme also was established to motivate participants to take apart in national and international competitions for designing robots.
