Training Programme for legal researchers begin

MUSCAT: The five-day training programme for the legal researchers working at the Ministry of Manpower on labour disputes settlement, which is organised by the Ministry in collaboration with the Higher Institute for Judiciary, on Sunday started under the auspices of Hamad bin Khamis al Amri, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Manpower for Labor Affairs.


The programme aims at providing participants with the necessary skills and knowledge and enhance their capabilities to reach cordial solutions for labour disputes.


The programme also aims at enhancing the efficiency of those involved in labour dispute settlement as this will reduce the time needed to settle such cases.


Cordial settlement of labour disputes will have positive reflection on doing business in the Sultanate and maintaining the rights of employers and employees.


The programme themes will cover the basic principles in labour law, the labour cases’ litigation procedures, the execution of the judgment, the alternative methods to settle labour disputes and the skills needed to settle such disputes.


Salim bin Said al Badi, Director General of Labor Care, at the Ministry of Manpower, who delivered the opening speech, said that this training course comes within the framework of the national programme for economic diversification ‘Tanfeedh’ and its multi-week long laboratories which came out with a number of initiatives that will develop and improve labour market judicial system. — ONA
