The Ministry of Tourism will represent the Sultanate of Oman at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) taking place at Dubai World Trade Centre from April 22-25, 2018. The Sultanate’s delegation will be led by Maitha Saif al Mahrouqi (pictured), Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism.

This year, the official show theme for the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2018 will focus on responsible tourism, including current sustainable travel trends. The Sultanate participates in the ATM annually, as it is considered to be one of the largest international gathering specialized in tourism in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Major contributors and decision-makers in tourism-related activities participate in the ATM; namely — airlines, hotels, shipping companies, conference centers, hotels, resorts, tour organizers, senior executives in the tourism sector and travel agencies.

Haitham Mohammed al Ghasani, Assistant Director General of the Tourism Promotion Department, stressed on the importance of the participation in this international exhibition, “As part of the Sultanate’s National Tourism Strategy 2040, the Ministry of Tourism seeks to introduce the sector’s latest developments and the most recent launched services, projects and facilities of the tourism industry, such as opening the new passenger terminal at Muscat International Airport and launching the Electronic Visa. It also aims to promote the Sultanate’s unique cultural heritage, the pristine environment and terrain diversification that will allow the tourist to experience the destination. Therefore, the Ministry is keen on promoting the Sultanate through this platform to attract international investors and tourists.”

He added that, “The Ministry’s participation will focus on highlighting Oman as all year round tourist destination especially for the GCC tourism market; further, a special focus will be given to promote tourism in summer season such as the Khareef (autumn) Festival in Salalah; and other most prominent offers that visitors can avail from various tourism establishments and hotels. The summer period in particular can be a perfect time to visit this multi-faceted country that offers a monsoon season in Dhofar governorate and cooling mountain escapes, fun filled water sports experiences for families and an incredible array of cultural and heritage experiences”
