Ties with Tunisia reviewed

MUSCAT: His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, on Thursday received Khemaies Jhinaoui, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tunisia.


The Tunisian guest conveyed greetings of President Beji Caid Essebsi of Tunisia and the government along with their best wishes to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos.


HH Sayyid Fahd commended the growing relations binding the two brotherly countries. He expressed the Sultanate’s wishes of further progress and prosperity to Tunisia and its brotherly people.


The meeting reviewed the good relations between the two brotherly countries and means of promoting cooperation between them in several fields, in addition to reviewing several developments in the regional and international arenas.


Khemaies Jhinaoui, Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, highlighted the importance of this visit for its positive outcomes at the level of exchanging visions on several issues.


He also praised the 3rd session of the Political Consultations Committee between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries. The session witnessed signing an agreement on mutual exemption of visas for holders of diplomatic, private and service passports. He affirmed his country’s aspiration to expand fields of cooperation with the Sultanate.


The meeting was attended by Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdallah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, and Farhad Khilif, Tunisian Ambassador to the Sultanate. — ONA  PICTURES BY MOHAMED AL RASHDI
