Tennis coaches benefit from OTA’s training course

The training course for coaches at the beginners and intermediate levels being conducted by Oman Tennis Association (OTA) in cooperation with Oman Olympic Committee and International Tennis Federation continues.


The training course is for 12 days and will conclude on April 23. The theory sessions are being held in the main meeting room at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex while the tennis court is being used for practical sessions.


As many as 24 coaches took part in the training. The course combined both educational and practical sessions during the course period. The course included the basics of tennis, the recent updates on the law of the sport, training basics for U-19, U-17 and U-15 teams and other related topics. Abdul Karim Saadullah and Sediq al Hashmi are the trainers of the course.


“It is a very essential training course for the coaches. I gained many new technical training skills in tennis and I have benefitted with the discussions in the theoretical and practical sessions,” National coach, Hamad al Harrasi, said.


“The course addressed the international training methods that will contribute significantly to improve my training by using the best methods. I am looking forward to continue taking advantage of all upcoming training courses. I will try my best to get the right experience of all modern methods in the training to become a positive figure in training world,” Al Harrasi added.


The list of coaches who are attending the course consist of 24 coaches from the Sultanate and some other countries: Hamed al Wahibi, Khalid al Raisi, Ibtisam al Oraimi, Omran al Balushi, Hamed al Harrasi, Slaim al Badi, Mohammed al Balushi, Nabeel Doob, Khalid al Barawani, Tahir al Rawahi, Said al Nasri, Yousef al Masqari, Kartick Yan, Lazkeel Israa, Vinsant Sanzhoor, Lucas Jinouska, Nihal Kinari, Basma Mohammed, Asma al Yamni, Najad al Wazen, Safaa Mahmood.
