MUSCAT: The 27th edition of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Exhibition (COMEX 2017) will open on Tuesday at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre under the auspices of Shaikh Al Fadhl bin Mohammed al Harthy, Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers.


The 5-day exhibition aims at introducing the initiatives and projects implemented in the field of e-government in the Sultanate. The event is organised by Oman International Trade and Exhibition (OITE) Company in cooperation with the Information Technology Authority (ITA).


Over 14 government institutions will participate in the exhibition to introduce their electronic services and launch a number of new services, along with more than 100 companies from around the world. On the sidelines of the exhibition, the “Smart Cities Summit-Oman” will be held on March 28 and 29, which will review the global trends in the implementation of smart cities and means of implementing them in the Sultanate through setting up the infrastructures and the unified national networks. — ONA
