MUSCAT: The Sustainable Energy Research Centre (SERC) at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) and Bahwan Cybertech (BCT) signed a Research Cooperation Programme (RCP) in order to bring collaborative efforts of both parties to support Renewable Energy initiatives in the Sultanate.
The collaboration will take place with the inherent expertise of the SQU’s SERC in advanced research, policy making and as a premier institution of learning to nurture talent while BCT provides domain specific and enterprise consulting, digital technologies, human capacity development and operations and maintenance solutions.
The RCP in specific provides avenues for the SQU’s SERC and BCT collaboration in following areas of mutual interest: digital technologies for renewable energy, solar and wind, project consultancy, feasibility, estimation, assessment.
The RCP covers other areas including real time asset and efficiency monitoring and control of IoT based sensor deployments; business insight analytics; collaborative technologies for gathering social intelligence, capturing stakeholder feedback and promoting renewables through social media campaigns.
The RCP foresees SERC to function as a Centre of Excellence to offer consulting, advisory, technology labs for industry players. — ONA
