Sultanate’s girls participate in World Guides Conference

DELHI: The Sultanate’s girl guides are participating in the 36th World Guides Conference hosted by India and organised by the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) from September 18th to 23rd.


The participation of the Scouts and Guides of Oman in this conference comes in the interest of being in the various international guidance events and participating actively in making decisions that are of interest to the Girl Guides Movement and to keep up with the latest developments in


the field of guides in the coming period.


Badriya al Jabriya, Head of the Sultanate’s delegation to the conference, said that the Sultanate will present during the conference its experience about “Survival Session for Girl Guides” which came within the framework of the Directorate General of Scouts and guides to young people and young women, where the session aimed to enable girl guides to upgrade their skills and channelling their energies to make maximum use of them in the field of service and development of the society.


She explained that the Sultanate’s delegation will submit a presentation on its experience in the field of transformation leadership through an integrated presentation of the Future Leaders project adopted by the Directorate General of Scouts and Girl Guides to train a number of the Sultanate’s leaders, adding that the training session will explain the importance of working with young girls and empowering them in the transformation leadership into the leadership of work groups and management of guidance work.


The conference will also be attended by Mariam bint Abdullah al Hadhriya, Head of the Guidance Department of the Directorate General of Scouts and Girl Guides, as a member of the Arab Regional Committee for Girl Guides. — ONA
