Sultanate’s delegation leaves for China today

MUSCAT: The delegation of the Omani side of the Oman-China friendship Association headed by Dr Khalid bin Salim al Saidi, Secretary-General of the State Council and the Secretary- General of the Association of friendship Oman, will leave for China on Friday.


The delegation consists of Shaikh Ali bin Nasser al Mahrouqi, Secretary-General of the Majlis Ash’shura, and a number of representatives of government agencies, private sector and representatives of some academic institutions.


The visit comes in response to an invite received from the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress in China.


The visit coincides with the Guangzhou inaugural ceremony of Oman Air to launch in China to promote relations between the Sultanate and China in various fields and strengthen cooperation between them in new avenues.


The itinerary of the visit includes a session of official talks between Omani side and the officials from the National People’s Congress Foreign Affairs Committee in China. The Omani side will hold meetings with a number of officials in addition to visiting tourist spots.


The establishment of Oman- China Friendship Association reflects the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries and a clear indication of the depth of relations in all areas of cooperation and at all levels.


Dr Omar Abdul Mone’m Yousuf al Zawawi, Honorary President and the Special Adviser to His Majesty the Sultan for External Liaison, has played a notable role in establishing Oman-China relationship and establishing ease in the environment for the Chinese community in Oman.”
