The Sultanate wears a festive look as preparations for the 47th National Day celebrations gather momentum. While the portraits of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos and national flags have been prominently placed across Muscat, lightings and other decorations have been installed along the roads and buildings.

The Supreme Committee for National Day celebrations has charted out a detailed plan to showcase the new chapter of growth and prosperity of Oman under the wise leadership of His Majesty.

“Celebrations are planned in all governorates with parades, festivities and fireworks to mark the special occasion,” said an official associated with the festivities.

According to the official, the illuminative lights will stay on until the end of the month.

According to the Muscat Municipality, preparations are in full swing for beautifying the city.

“The process of replacing incandescent lamps with LED lights has been launched. Already 84 energy saving lights have been installed,” the municipality said in a statement.
