PRETORIA: Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed al Sarmi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education met on Tuesday with the Director General of Higher Education and Training in the Republic of South Africa.
During the meeting that was held in the Directorate General of Higher Education and Training in Pretoria, the two sides made presentations on the higher education system in both countries including a presentation on National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS).
Dr Al Sarmi also visited South Africa Qualification Authority (SAQUA) and met with the CEO and the Advisor of the Authority. The meeting discussed means of sharing experiences in the field of accreditation, education equivalence and organising joint seminars between the two sides.
The delegation comprises Mubarak bin Salim al Zakwani, Sultanate’s Ambassador to South Africa, Lara bint Ghassan Ubaidat, Director General of the Directorate General for Scholarships and Ahmed bin Khamis al Qatiti, Assistant Director at the International Cooperation Division at the Ministry of Higher Education. — ONA
