Sultanate hosts ACAC meeting

MUSCAT: The Sultanate will host on December 21 and 22 the 55th meeting of the executive council for the Arab Civil Aviation Commission (ACAC), which will be held at the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) premises under the chairmanship of Dr Mohammed bin Nasser al Za’abi, CEO of the PACA.


Delegations of nine Arab countries, in addition to the Director General of ACAC and representative of League of Arab will attend the meeting.


The meeting will discuss civil aviation issues of common interest among Arab countries including air transport, air navigation, air safety, air security and environment.


The ACAC Executive Council is responsible for following up the implementation of the decisions taken by the General Assembly, following up the implementation of its plans and programmes, as well as taking necessary measures to achieve the aims of the Commission and develop the services it renders.


The Executive Council comprises nine members who are elected by the General Assembly every two years – from among chairmen or directors general of the civil aviation authorities. It meets every two years to discuss the challenges facing civil aviation sector in the Arab countries and propose the Commission’s programmes and budget. — ONA
