MUSCAT: The Sultanate, represented by the State Council, will host the ‘Regional Forum of Parliamentarians in the Field of Science and Diplomacy’ being organised by the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) during December 25-27.
The forum will be attended by parliamentarians, experts and thinkers from Arab countries. It aims at enhancing the role of parliamentarians in developing legislation and policies in support of science and technology, building bridges of cooperation among member states through science diplomacy, engaging society in science, technology and innovation issues, deepening cooperation among scientific associations and entities in member states on supporting decision-making on science and innovation issues.
The forum includes five working sessions that will discuss several papers related to its subject, and will issue recommendations to strengthen the role of Arab parliaments in science and diplomacy. — ONA
