Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran contest winners announced

MUSCAT: The Sultan Qaboos Higher Center for Culture and Science (SQHCCS) announced on Wednesday the winners of the Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition in its 27th session at the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Boucher.


Habib bin Mohammed al Riyami, SQHCCS Secretary-General, who addressed a press conference said the number of applicants in this session amounted to 2,156 contestants, with an increase of 100 per cent compared to 2016, from 25 centres.


He said about 1,063 males participated in the competition as contestants, while about 1,113 females contested.


He added that the final results of the competition in its 27th edition are as follows:


In the first level, memorising the Holy Quran in full with Tajweed, the first place went to Said bin Musallam al Muhaijri from Sur Center, Fatima bint Salim al Barashdiya from Nizwa Center won the second place, while the third place won by Amjad bin Hilal al Busaidy from Nizwa Center.


In the second level, memorization of 24 consecutive parts with Tajweed.


The first place went to Abdulaziz bin Munir al Masroori from the Al Khoudh Center.


The second place was won by Faisal bin Abdul Satar al Balushi from the Barka Center and the third went to Al Yaqdhan bin Idris al Rawahi from Sumail Center.


At the third level, memorization of 18 consecutive parts with Tajweed.

The first place was won by Mohammed bin Darwish al Shaqsi from Al Ammerat Center, Abdullah bin Mohammed al Ameri from Sinaw Center won second place and the third place went to Muadh bin Said al Dhoyani, from Sinaw Center.


In the fourth level, memorization of 12 consecutive parts with Tajweed.


Fatima bint Yahya al Busaidiya, from Sinaw Center won the first place.


The second place was won by Juma bin Salmin al Farsi came from Quriyat Center and the third place went to Maryam bint Khalid al Najjar from Salalah Center.


In the fifth level, memorization of 6 consecutive parts with Tajweed.


The first place went to Abdulaziz bin Saud al Farsi from Sohar Center.


The second place was won by Anas bin Ahmad al Rasbi from Al Khuwair Center, while the third place was won by Quds bint Khalifa al Busaidiya from Quriyat Center.


In the sixth level, memorization of 2 consecutive parts with Tajweed. The first place went to Maryam bint Hilal al Hamhamiya, from Ibra Center.


The second place was won by Zainab bint Hamoud al Habsiya, from Al Khoudh Centre. Rafa bint Saud al Rashidiya from Sumail Center won the third place. — ONA
