Suhar to have more Qatar Airways, Air Arabia flights

Muscat, Oct 3 - The Public Authority has Civil Aviation (PACA) has given approvals for the Sharjah-based Air Arabia to operate eight additional weekly flights from Suhar Airport from Wednesday, October 4. It also permitted Qatar Airways to increase frequencies from the same airport.


With this the total number of weekly flights to be operated by Air Arabia from Suhar will now go up to 16. PACA also allowed to Qatar Airways to operate 14 weekly flights from Suhar airport from December 1 as per the winter operating schedule. The airline will continue to operate seven weekly flights under winter schedule, which begins at the end of October.


It may be noted that Air Arabia started operating from Suhar from July 9 this year. Suhar is Air Arabia’s third destination in Oman.


The carrier operates daily flights Muscat and Salalah. Air Arabia is the first international carrier to operate from Suhar. With this, Air Arabia will connect passengers from Suhar to over 50 destinations in the Middle East, North Africa, the Indian subcontinent, Central Asia and Europe — 22 countries from Sharjah, 11 destinations in eight countries from Ras al Khaimah, and six destinations in four countries from Alexandria.


From October 1, Qatar Airways added four additional weekly flights to make a daily service from Suhar.
