Students’ performance analysed

By Amal Al Riyami — NIZWA: Dec. 19: A monitoring committee from the Ministry of Education visited the Directorate of Education in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate and met the members of Al Dakhiliyah Committee, top supervisors and heads of departments on Monday.


The committee’s task was to present students’ tests results and analyse their academic performance.


It was headed by Laila bint Ahmed al Najjar, Adviser to Minister of Education for educational programmes, Dr Moza bint Rashid al Balushi, a member of evaluation, and Hamad bin Homaid al Hatami, general administrative supervisor.


The committee met Nasser bin Ali al Khayari, Director-General Assistant at the Directorate-General for Human Resources Development in Al Dakhiliyah and Deputy Head of the Academic Achievement Committee, and Ahmed bin Jabor al Mahrouqi, Director-General Assistant for Educational Evaluation and Educational Programmes.

Laila al Najjar met members of the committee in the governorate, top supervisors and heads of technical and administrative departments in the Human Resource Development Department.

She said the ministry is making efforts to follow up and analyse academic performance of students in order to fix problems in the early stages.


She said raising achievement levels must be accorded priority. She pointed out the importance of coordination with authorities to put these procedural plans into action.


Laila al Najjar stressed the importance of joint efforts to raise the achievement levels of students, including regular meetings with parents, and helping them overcome difficulties, if any, at school.


Dr Moza al Balushi provided an analysis of the tests results in the governorate over the past year.
