Students in Kentucky organise Omani evening

KENTUCKY: Omani students at the University of Kentucky American Society organised an Omani evening recently. A number of faculty members and staff of the University of Kentucky attended the event in which several Arab and Muslim communities besides other communities residing in the state of Kentucky joined in.
The evening saw some plays being staged highlighting a variety of social phenomena in the Omani society. Some plays dealt with issues faced by the students when they are abroad. Folk arts and some traditional customs of Oman too were featured in the plays.
A visual presentations on tourism potential of the Sultanate, its geographical features and cultural wealth besides environmental diversity, were screened. Snacks that symbolise Omani hospitality — dates, coffee and incense — were shared with the guests.
