MUSCAT: Students from Aseela bint Qais School in Al Hail on Sunday got an insider’s view of the State Council’s premises during an educational visit meant to teach them about its processes, discover its history and access its related information. The presentation by Sultan al Farsi, Head of Reports and Working Papers Section, detailed the tasks and responsibilities assigned to the Council. During the visit, the students were briefed on the ‘three powers’ of the Council and the stages of the draft law processing, and the differences between the State Council and the Shura Council regarding the terms of reference, the membership of the members and its extent of vested powers, in addition to the stages and duration of the draft law. They also reviewed the organisational structure of the Council, its activities and achievements. It is noteworthy that the Council seeks by making room for these visits to students to activate the level of partnership with the local community. At the end of their Council tour, Sultan answered the students’ queries.
