State Council deputy chairman receives German delegation

MUSCAT: Shaikh Dr Al Khattab bin Ghalib al Huna’ei, Deputy Chairman of the State Council, received at the council’s building a delegation of the Economic Affairs and Energy Committee at the German Bundestag, led by Dr Peter Ramsauer, Member of the Bundestag and Chairman of the Committee.


During the meeting, Dr Al Hina’ei gave a briefing on march of Shura in the Sultanate and the stages of progress it witnessed.


The meeting reviewed scope of bilateral cooperation between the two sides and means of enhancing them, particularly in the parliamentary areas.


Dr Ramsauer commended the wise policy pursued by the Sultanate under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos in various spheres, as well as the remarkable progress being witnessed by the Sultanate, looking forward to promote the bilateral relations towards further progress and prosperity.


The meeting was attended by some members of the State Council and the German ambassador to the Sultanate.


Sultan bin Salim al Habsi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Planning (SCP), also received the German delegation, at SCP building on Thursday.


The meeting exchanged cordial conversations on the bilateral relations and reviewed matters related to planning and investment, as well as most important economic sectors in the 9th Five-Year Plan.


The meeting was attended by Sultan bin Hamdoon al Harthy, Adviser at the SCP Secretariat General, and Sayyid Najeeb al Busaidi, Director General of Follow-up and Assessment at SCP Secretariat General. — ONA
