State Council chief to hold talks with Lankan leaders

MUSCAT: A ten-member delegation from the State Council, led by the Chairman, Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri, arrives in Sri Lanka today.


During the visit from December 4-8, Dr Mantheri, will be holding high-level discussions with Sri Lankan leaders to advance relations to a new level. The official visit to Sri Lanka is at an invitation received from Karu Jayasuriya, Speaker of the Parliament.


The State Council Chairman is scheduled to meet Maithripala Sirisena, President of Sri Lanka, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Karu Jayasuriya, Speaker of the Parliament, Tilak Marapana, Minister of Foreign Affairs during the visit.


The delegation will also observe the parliament proceedings and tour the parliament during the visit.


Dr Mantheri’s delegation includes Abdullah Said al Saifi, Dr Muna Ahmed Saadoon, Dr Said Mubarak Muharrami, Dr Ismail Saleh al Aghbari and Sabah Mohamed Bahlani among others.
