State Council approves vital proposals

MUSCAT: The State Council on Thursday held a session under the chairmanship of Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council.


During the session, the State Council approved the proposal of the economic committee on the study about ‘Development of Capital Markets and Banking Sector’.


It also approved a proposal to form an ad-hoc committee to study ‘Developing a National Program for Governmental Performance and Creativity’. The programme aims at diagnosing the status of the public performance and developing a system that can contribute to facilitating procedures and increasing productivity.


The council reviewed a report on the participation of the State Council at the 12th session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Councils’ Union, which was held in Bamako, the capital of Mali.


It also reviewed a report about the participation of the Council at the 24th conference of the Arab Parliaments Union, which was held in Morocco. It also reviewed a report on the visit by the Polish delegation to the Sultanate and the report of the Assistant Secretariat General for Information and Researches Affairs on the Sultanate’s network readability in light of the Global IT Report 2016. The council also decided to hold the next sessions on May 23 and 24.
