Muscat: Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) launched awards for colleges for their achievements in sports.
Dr Badriya bint Khalfan al Hadhabi, Head of the Physical Education Department at the College of Education, Chairperson of the award committee, said that among the goals of the award are to educate the young generation about healthy life and involve them in development of the country. The award’s vision is to enhance the role of sport and its importance in improving the lives of individuals, and to raise the culture of competition among members of the university community.
The award launching ceremony held on Wednesday was attended by Dr Ali bin Saud al Bimani, Vice Chancellor of SQU and top officials from the University.
