The acrobatics performers from China are leaving everyone awestruck for their magnificent moves and confidence at the newly launched China Commercial Town (CCT) in Raysut. Their action-packed swift moves keep everyone spellbound, while two magicians in the team take the audience to another level of thinking as to how they are able to accomplish some of their tricks.

The performers from Guangdong Southern Acrobatic group are offering full entertainment for all age groups and have added new flavour to the festivity in Salalah, which is in the middle of the monsoon season popularly known as Khareef. The programme is being showcased daily at the CCT from 8pm onwards.

The acrobats are so quick in action that they leave everyone guessing of when they would appear on the stage in different costumes and entirely different moves. They leave the audience guessing and asking to themselves “are they normal human beings or people with elastic bones which they mould as per their wish?”

Talking to Observer, acrobatic group leader Pan, said to achieve perfection of this level it needed tough training and regular exercise to remain in shape and flexible. Pan’s nine-member team has six females and three males.

His group member and namesake Pan, 23, is one of the most flexible in the group. She started learning acrobatics when she was six-year-old and now this is her full time job. Other members in the group include Zhang, Zang, Ma, magician An and Pipa.

“The Guangdong Southern Acrobatic group is a professional art group showing acrobatics, magic, circus performance, etc. The group has done performances in the United States, France, Britain, Germany, Japan, Italy, Spain, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Macao and many other countries and regions,” said Pan.

“We have been receiving good response from the local people. The idea behind any cultural event is to make a contribution to carry forward national culture, deepening the friendship among all the nationalities, besides achieving good social and economic benefits,” he said.

The troupe, according to him, has introduced many domestic and foreign outstanding acrobatics, magic, circus performances in order to promote cultural and art communications.

Gary Liang, Senior Executive at CCT, has been witnessing the phenomenon of Salalah monsoon and Salalah Tourism Festival (STF) for the first time. For him it is an amazing time when people from all over the GCC come to Salalah and local people take part in the STF with great zeal and showcase the country’s heritage and culture with pride.

“As a new business establishment in Salalah, we are committed to the idea of sustainable development. Our large shopping mall has been decked up for the Salalah Tourism Festival. We have wide range of products in entertainment, catering, leisure, culture and other functions. In order to attract more tourists, our chairman decided to bring Guangdong Southern Acrobatic troupe. They will provide performances to Omani people for 40 days and shall bring unprecedented visual experience for them,” he said.
