MUSCAT: The standard specifications for Omani dishdasha will now be mandatory. The Ministry of Commerce and industry in cooperation with the Public Authority for Crafts Industry (PACI) identified the standards of the Omani dishdasha to preserve the genuine shape of the traditional Omani men’s dress. The ministry has approved five common types of dishdasha used in different governorates and identified their standard specifications after meeting a number of experienced dishdasha tailors and elders. The standard specifications include the main and supplementary parts of the dishdasha and its embroidery.
